Same Old Brand New Me

Haiz...my life like keep revolving around the same guys!
My posts are either about Kelvin, Kang, K, Tim, JJ or the guy with the cap!!!
They are nice people and friends but then...
Me NO life man!
When will a new Male name appear in my blog?
I think the answer is a NEVER...

I Just Call to Say....

Received a call today...was busy with something so didnt hurry to answer it...
When I finally took out my handphone...it displayed 'private number'...
I was thinking to myself, 'Oh no, not a call from my boss again...its a weekend!'...
The moment I said 'Hello'...I heard a familiar voice coming from the other end!!!
I couldn't believe my ear!...I asked him so as to reconfirm my guess...IT IS HIM!!!! And all the way from USA!!!
(He actually sms-ed me from Bali about a month ago to inform me that he will be going to US for a year.)
I know that he is not from a well-to-do family...I was wondering how he can afford to make a long-distance call to me...so I asked him if he called me via phone...don't want to waste his money...then he told me that he used the internet to call me...Phew...
He updated me about his life there...doing internship in a hotel for a year...rented an apartment with four other guys, one from Africa and the rest I couldn't remember...job easier there but standard of living very high...then I told him to take some pictures of New Jersey to show me...he sounded confused then told me he is in Washington DC...so embarrasing...
We chatted for quite a while...told me it was 12+am in USA...I finally found the guts to ask him about his TW girlfriend...Wasn't sure what his answer was but I think they are still together...haiz...hehe...
I told a friend about him calling me and she said maybe out of 10 calls to his girlfriend, he would draw lots to see who he would call next...so mean of her to say that...but I believed that K called me because he is in a foreign country now, just like he was here in Singapore last year and I was the nicest Singaporean to him...I guess that was why he thought of me...
But whatever the reason it is, I am very happy to receive his call...it is good to talk to him again and to listen his voice and his accent...and when he laughed, I remembered his cute smile...
Hope that we will continue to keep in contact...and the next time I were to visit his country or he visits mine, we will have a get-together again...

Unbelievable...

My 'friend' is 'crowned' Mr Singapore!!!
Gosh...I know he has ever told me about taking part in Manhunt but I never expect him to actually win a title...
What an achievement!!!
Love his write-up...not pretentious at all...
Here's how it goes :

"He impressed the panel of international celebrity judges with his good looks, physique and presentation during the pageant held in the Braddell Heights Auditorium.
J's career ambition is to become a solicitor. Although he could not get into the National University of Singapore (NUS) Law Faculty, he never gave up. Instead, he took a longer and tedious route to realize his plans and is currently reading Law at University of London, and hopes to matriculate into NUS for his Masters in Law. A “never give up” attitude best describes his personality. J adopts the 3 Ds of his life: discipline, determination and desire in everything that he does.
J loves all kinds of sports, especially basketball, which is his childhood favorite. He sometimes cycles from one end of Singapore to the next with his friends, and would usually end his day either by running or at the gym."

I am proud of him as he won it by staying true to himself...
He really IS a very determined n disciplined guy...
As for the basketball thingy...it is TRUE!!!...I used to watch him play and we read the Slamdunk comics together and he was our very own 樱木花道...haha...coz at that time his personality was very much like him...
What a change....
Congrats!!!

NE Show 2008

The weather was foreboding this afternoon, looking as though it would be pouring.
It did pour but we were lucky, when we met at 4pm, the sky was clear. In fact, the weather was great!

When we were making our way to our green sector seats, suddenly a Malay man stopped us and asked if we were a couple!? I shook my head and answered very quickly No, thinking that he was trying to interview us or to get us to play some games. Actually he was asking whether only the two of us were watching the parade coz he had 2 yellow sector tix and 2 green sector tix and he would like to swop tix with us. Haha!!! What a misunderstanding! Kelvin said that I was very lucky to be paired up with him, a 21 year old guy. Inside my heart, I was thinking poor Kelvin, had to pair up with an auntie again this year (last year, Mr and Mrs Hong thought that Kelvin, Boon, Sally and I were dating couples, haha!). Anyway, we were very lucky, the yellow sector is right infront of the main stage! We got a very good view of everything from where we were seated.

I didn't like the funpack this year, not very user-friendly. And this is the forst time I see people discarding the bag, so sad. I miss the fan, they did not include one in the funback. We were also not given instructions as to when to use the items in the funback. What a letdown.

The choir is back! Brings back the old flavour to the parade. Love the photos they screened while the choir was singing. Very well-taken.

The best part of this year's NDP must be the aerial display by the Black Knights. The moves they made were graceful and the stunts heart-stopping! So dangerous! And we caught sight of Zoe and her son, Braydon! They must be there to watch her husband's performance, he is one of the pilots. Zoe is very pretty and her son is so cute!

The fireworks as usual was beautiful but I find it not fanciful enough. Maybe it would be nicer on the actual day but I love the picture we took with the fireworks as our backdrop.

On the whole, even though there was a number of hiccups, the show was great. I thought the perfomers for the mass display were fantastic, could'nt say the same for the hosts though.

Anyway it was always fun to watch the parade with Kelvin, hope that we can do it again next year!

Singapore, I Love You!

I Miss You...

If I was granted just one wish
I know what it would be...
For the only thing I long for
is to have You here with me...

Still missing you, Kang...
